Inserting your Me Luna Before using your Me Luna menstrual cup for the first time, please disinfect the cup using the instructions described in this brochure. Always wash your hands thoroughly before inserting and removing the Me Luna. Before insertion, fold the menstrual cup in the way that is most comfortable for you. Hold the folded menstrual cup and insert it with the folded part facing forward. You can insert the menstrual cup while sitting on the toilet, standing upright or leaning forward - or in whatever position is most comfortable for you. If you have difficulty inserting the Me Luna menstrual cup, we recommend using a water-based lubricant. Over time, you will find the most comfortable vaginal position for your Me Luna. Some women prefer to position it very close to the cervix, others prefer closer to the vaginal opening. Me Luna menstrual cups should not be placed too close to the vaginal opening, as this can cause discomfort when sitting. To avoid leakage, make sure that the Me Luna has unfolded properly after insertion. You can check if it is correctly positioned by gently rotating the menstrual cup or by tracing the rim of the cup with your finger after insertion. It is generally recommended to empty, clean, and reinsert the menstrual cup three to four times a day. Please adjust the frequency of emptying, cleaning, and reinsertion according to the volume of your menstrual flow. In the beginning, we recommend emptying, cleaning, and reinserting the menstrual cup as often as you would change your tampons or sanitary pads. This will give you a good idea of how often you will need to empty your menstrual cup. Me Luna can be worn during the day and at night, but must be emptied, cleaned, and reinserted at least every 8 hours. Users should check Me Luna before each use for signs of wear or damage and replace the cup if there is excessive wear. It is not necessary to empty, clean, and reposition your menstrual cup every time you visit the toilet. Me Luna may shift slightly in your vagina due to the normal movement of your vaginal muscles. This will not affect the functionality of Me Luna or your comfort. Removing your Me Luna Before removing your Me Luna menstrual cup, wash your hands thoroughly. Relax your lower abdomen and vaginal muscles and remove the menstrual cup by gently squeezing it to release the suction that holds the cup in place. When removing the cup, you can use a slight twisting motion. You should not use squeezing when pulling out or removing your Me Luna. Grasp the base of the cup with your fingers. Then grasp the base of the cup when pulling out and removing. Some women prefer to push the cup out using their vaginal muscles while squeezing and pulling the cup with their hand. Be patient when removing your Me Luna the first few times. It will take a little time to find the best way for you to remove your menstrual cup. Important cleaning instructions: Cleaning your Me Luna During your cycle, you should clean your Me Luna with a mild soap or detergent and water. Simply lather the cup for about 1 minute. After using soap or detergent, it is very important to rinse it thoroughly with clean running water to remove all traces of the detergent/soap. Cleaning recommendations: Use a small brush to clean the air pockets in the menstrual cup. You can boil Me Luna in a little vinegar or salted water from time to time. This prevents stains and deposits. Dry the cup completely before storing it. Never store your menstrual cup in a tightly closed container. This can cause unpleasant odors. We recommend storing your Me Luna menstrual cup in its pouch (each Me Luna menstrual cup comes with its own storage pouch). Disinfecting your Me Luna Your Me Luna needs to be disinfected both before you use it for the first time and after the end of each monthly cycle. You can disinfect it by immersing it completely in boiling water (100 degrees) for 3-5 minutes. Note: Me Luna should not touch the bottom of the container in which you immerse it, as it will melt. Do not leave unattended. You can use a timer to keep track of the time.
