Lota for Neti Ceramic pot for rinsing the nose and sinuses. Preparation of a 1% rinsing solution. 1. Put Himalayan salt crystals in a glass container (jar) and fill it with spring water. Stir the solution periodically. 2. After about 24 hours, check if the crystals have dissolved. If they have dissolved, add more until the water can no longer absorb any more salt. This is evident when undissolved crystals remain at the bottom. The solution is 26% saturated with salt and ready for use. 3. Put two teaspoons of the solution in a bowl that you have previously filled with lukewarm water (36-37 °C) and stir. You should get a 1% solution. Using Lota for Neti: 1. Place the spout of the container tightly against one nostril and tilt your head to the side so that the solution passes through the sinuses and flows out through the other nostril. 2. Breathe normally during the rinse. 3. Repeat the procedure with the other nostril. Use about 100 ml of saline solution for each nostril. When you are finished, gently and carefully blow your nose.
