Escapelle is an emergency contraceptive (contraceptive for use in emergencies) that is taken after unprotected sex or when another method of contraception has failed.
Escapelle prevents unwanted pregnancy in 84% of cases, provided that the pill is taken within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sexual intercourse.
- Escapelle does not prevent pregnancy in all cases, but the pill is more effective the sooner it is taken after unprotected sex (it is better to take it within 12 hours than to delay until the third day)
