Measuring temperature: It is very easy to measure your body temperature on your forehead by following these steps: - Press and hold the "face" button: the two guide lights will activate and the temperature value will be projected onto the forehead and shown on the display. - Bring the thermometer perpendicular to the center of the forehead until the temperature is visible between the two arcs. If the thermometer is held too close or too far from the forehead, the temperature will be displayed outside the two arcs. - When the temperature is displayed exactly between the arcs, the thermometer is at the correct distance for accurate body temperature measurement: release the button and hold the thermometer still while the lights are on. It is also possible to read the temperature value on the display, which will light up in blue. There are situations in which detecting body temperature on the forehead is not optimal. For example, when a person has a sweaty forehead, the detected temperature may be lower than the actual temperature. In fact, our body uses the forehead as a cooling system for the head to protect the brain. So even if the sweat droplets are removed, the forehead will still be cold and will not reflect the correct body temperature. The same thing happens in the presence of patients with oxygen masks: the steam coming out of the mask affects the temperature of the subject's forehead, altering the measurement. Even in older people, especially those with wrinkled foreheads, the temperature measured on the forehead may be lower than the actual temperature. In these cases, it is recommended to take the body temperature on the eyelid. There is no danger if the person opens their eyes during temperature detection: the lights are completely harmless. The eyelid is a valid alternative because it can provide a temperature similar to that of the forehead and is less susceptible to temperature changes.
