Aquaphor Replaceable filter cartridge for jug, model A5 1 pc When using or replacing a used water filter for the first time: - Disassemble and wash the cord before installing the new filter with cool water and a mild detergent (Vero). Do not wash in a dishwasher, as the plastic will fade and the cord will lose its attractive appearance. - Place the filter in a container (or in the transparent body of the jug itself) and soak it in cool water for 10 minutes. This is done so that the sorbent inside it can swell and deaerate (air pockets in the filter prevent water from passing through it). - Reassemble the parts of the jug and place the filter in the opening of the funnel (the colored upper part) of the jug so that it is perpendicular to the bottom of the jug (do not bend it so that it does not leak from the sides). - Fill the jug with water twice (fill the funnel and let it drain into the bottom) and pour the filtered water into the drain (or water the flowers at home). This is done to remove fine particles of activated carbon that may fall to the bottom of the jug (due to vibrations during transport). If the filter is nearing the end of its shelf life (or the filter has dried out), a few more repetitions may be necessary. Activated carbon is not harmful to the body, but it is aesthetically unpleasant to look at where the water is expected to be clean. - If your rope has an indicator for the remaining capacity of the rope, reset it according to the instructions for use.
