The test is only applicable 3 minutes after the seventh day of conception.
The test strip can detect HCG hormone in urine with a concentration of 25 mlU/ml and above.
- When urine is added to the test block, it moves along it and mobilizes the gold-linked HCG conjugate with which the test block is coated
- The resulting mixture moves along the membrane by capillary action and interacts with the anti-HCG antibodies with which the test area is coated
- If HCG levels of 25 mlU/ml or more are present, the result is the appearance of a colored band in this area
- If there is no HCG hormone in the sample, the area remains colorless
- The urine continues to move along the control area and colors it pink to purple, which means that the test is working and the result is valid
Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced by the developing placenta shortly after fertilization.
The appearance of hCG in the urine shortly after conception and its subsequent increase in concentration during early pregnancy make it an ideal marker for the timely detection of pregnancy.
